The Australian Government is seeking expressions of interest for appointment as the Independent National Security Legislation Monitor (INSLM). The INSLM reviews national security and counter-terrorism laws to assess protections for rights, proportionality and necessity.

The role is offered for up to three years, can be full time or part-time, with security clearance and a small staff supporting the office in Canberra. Applications close 5:00 pm AEST on 21 August 2026; enquiries via email.
