About The Role
We have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Hospital Orderly to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis, minimum 60hrs a fortnight. Monday to Friday flexible roster, no on-call, weekends, public holidays or trauma
Duties And Responsibilities
This role will see you working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to support patient care needs and deliver exceptional clinical outcomes.
- Assist the team with admissions and discharges and preparation of patients for surgery
- Provide secure transfer, handling and positioning of patients to, in and from the operating theatre
- Assist in cleaning and removal of waste and linen
- Assist with stock management and maintain awareness of cost control
- Ensure equipment is available as requested
- Assist the team with maintenance requirements
- Participate and collaborate in Quality activities as directed
- Other general duties as guided and directed
About You
You have a genuine passion for providing world-class customer service and patient care and adding value to Australian healthcare. You will have:
- Solid experience as an Orderly within a hospital setting
- Experience as a Theatre Orderly/ Theatre Technician highly desirable
- Knowledge and understanding of lifting, positioning and transferring techniques using available equipment
- Experience in supply / stock control management and ordering
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of infection control principles
- Ability to prioritise and coordinate work to meet patient and customer needs
