About The Position

The Governance Officer plays a key role in supporting the University's governance and insurance functions. Reporting to the Company Secretary and General Counsel, and working closely with the Executive Officer – Governance, this position is responsible for coordinating governance and insurance administration to ensure the effective operation of the University's governance frameworks.

The role is varied and involves coordinating committee processes, maintaining governance records and registers, administering policies, preparing reports and governance documentation,



and liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The Governance Officer also provides administrative support for the University's insurance portfolio, including renewals, claims management, record keeping, reporting, and liaison with insurers and brokers.

About the Person

The successful candidate will be an organised and proactive administrator with experience in governance, insurance, compliance, or a similar administrative environment. You will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a keen eye for detail when preparing documentation and maintaining records.

You will be a confident communicator who can build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders while handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Experience supporting governance, committee, insurance or compliance activities will be highly regarded, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

Most importantly, you will be a collaborative team member who is capable of working independently, exercising sound judgement, and delivering high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

Salary details

The salary for this 0.5 FTE position commences at $42,853.53 per annum (Full-time Equivalent is $85,707.07 per annum) plus 12% superannuation per annum.
