About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Accountant/Book Keeper to join our team on a full-time basis at our Mount Macedon location. This is a pivotal role that will ensure the accurate recording, management and reporting of our financial transactions. You will be responsible for maintaining our books, preparing financial statements and providing valuable financial insights that support business decision-making. Your work will be fundamental to the financial health and compliance of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

1. Recording financial transactions accurately and maintaining organised bookkeeping records

2. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

3. Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies

4. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements

5. Processing payroll and managing employee tax obligations

6. Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting

7. Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations

8. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial information

9. Supporting the management team with financial queries and reporting requirements

What we're looking for

1.



Proven experience in bookkeeping and small practice accounting, ideally within a similar business environment

2. Strong knowledge of accounting software and proficiency with Microsoft Excel

3. Solid understanding of accounting principles, GST and tax obligations

4. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy

5. Organised approach to managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines

6. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members

7. Relevant qualifications such as CPA, MYOB certification or equivalent accounting training

8. Professional and discreet approach to handling confidential financial matters
