Myndshift Group has been engaged by our client partner, a respected mining contractor leading the restart of a major gold operation in North Queensland.

About the Role

Located approximately 150km south-west of Townsville , the Mt Carlton Gold Mine forms part of the Charters Towers Goldfield , one of Australia's most established gold-producing regions. As operations ramp up under new leadership, the site is in an exciting new phase of production, creating strong opportunities for experienced operators to be part of its next chapter.

We are seeking experienced Excavator Operators with hard rock open-cut mining experience to join the production team and support the safe and efficient movement of material across site. This is an opportunity to secure a position on a growing operation as it gains momentum, with a clear pathway to permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate production excavators in a hard rock open-cut mining environment
- Safely and efficiently load haul trucks to meet production targets
- Conduct pre-start inspections and report defects




- Maintain production while working to site safety standards
- Work closely with supervisors and other production personnel
- Complete all required documentation accurately

About You

- Experience operating Hitachi EX1200 , Liebherr R9150 , or equivalent class excavators
- Demonstrated experience operating production excavators in hard rock open-cut mining
- Strong understanding of load and dump procedures
- Commitment to safe work practices and production efficiency
- Ability to work well within a high-performing production team
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
