Wellington Correctional Centre is a large facility that accommodates maximum, medium, and minimum security sentenced and unsentenced male and female inmates. As Service and Programs Officer, every day, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Working with offenders and remandees, you’ll provide assessment, case planning, crisis intervention, and ongoing support to help individuals address challenges, build positive behaviours, and work towards successful reintegration. Through tailored Service delivery and the delivery of accredited group programs in correctional centres, you’ll play a vital role in reducing re-offending and creating safer communities. What You’ll Do

As a Service and Programs Officer, you’ll play a vital role in transforming lives and creating safer communities. Your day-to-day work will be dynamic and impactful. As a valued member of our dedicated Service Integration team, you will: support offenders and remandees on their rehabilitation journey through assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and the delivery of accredited group programs. You'll also contribute to intake screening, offender induction, health promotion initiatives, pre-release planning, and referrals to community support services. Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team in a dynamic correctional environment,



you'll help individuals make positive changes, reduce re-offending, and support safer communities.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience in case management, assessment, and supporting people with complex needs.
- Ability to build rapport, influence positive behavioural change, and work effectively in challenging environments.
- Experience delivering group programs, workshops, or interventions.
- Knowledge of alcohol and other drug issues and evidence-based support practices.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and crisis management skills.
- Relevant qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Current's driver's licence and willingness to travel as required.
- Certificate IV in Correctional Practice, or the ability to obtain it within required timeframes.
