Your role at St John of God Midland

St John of God Midland Public Hospital is seeking experienced and motivated Emergency Medicine Consultants (FACEM) to join our Emergency Department on a fixed-term basis to provide leave cover.

Multiple opportunities are available, totalling up to 2.0 FTE, with flexibility for appointments to be made across one or more successful candidates. The duration and FTE allocation of appointments will be based on departmental requirements and service needs.

Your Role

As an Emergency Medicine Consultant, you will provide specialist emergency care to both adult and paediatric patients within a busy and diverse clinical setting.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care while supporting education, clinical governance and continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role, you will:

- Provide expert emergency care across a broad range of presentations and acuity levels.

- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of patient-centred care.

- Supervise, mentor and teach junior medical staff, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other members of the healthcare team.

- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

- Support the ongoing development of a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture.

At St John of God Midland Public Hospital, you will be part of a supportive and engaged Emergency Department where consultants are encouraged to pursue their clinical and professional interests while contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

You will hold Fellowship of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM),



with proven extensive clinical experience managing high-acuity patients within a complex hospital setting.

You will be recognised for your ability to develop collaborative teams, deliver excellence in specialist medical care, and lead clinical quality improvement initiatives.

- Highly competitive salary & conditions ($356,343 - $468,883) plus 12% superannuation per annum, pro rata for part time)
