Role Overview:
The Development Lead will manage projects directly and support the delivery of RFBI’s capital works and property development initiatives, with oversight from and reporting directly to the Development Manager. You will coordinate consultants, contractors, internal stakeholders, budgets, documentation, and reporting to ensure projects are delivered effectively and aligned with RFBI’s operational and strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and drive capital works and development projects from planning through to delivery.
- Prepare regular project updates, progress reports, risk summaries, and budget reporting.
- Coordinate consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
- Oversee internally managed projects, ensuring scope, program, quality, and budget requirements are achieved.
- Review consultant and contractor documentation, contracts, submissions, and project deliverables, escalating key matters as required.
- Draft project briefs, proposals, feasibility inputs, budget estimates, and approval documentation.
- Support procurement and tender processes for consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Maintain accurate project records, registers, meeting notes, approvals, and reporting documentation.
- Providing clear concise recommendations and updates to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5-7 years’ experience in project management, property development, construction, design, building, or a related field.
- Experience in delivering State Significant Development Applications and associated authority approvals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, coordinate stakeholders, track budgets, and prepare clear project reports.
- Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Property Development, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of allocated projects, and escalate issues appropriately to the Development Manager.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident preparing reports, registers, schedules, and presentations.
- Excellent planning, organisational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
- Willingness to travel across RFBI’s network of villages as required.
- Willing to obtain Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC).
- Experience in building construction and understanding of Australian Standards is highly desirable.
