The KILB is currently seeking to appoint an Sustainable Landscape Officer
About the Role
The Sustainable Landscape Officer contributes to the delivery of the Kangaroo Island Landscape Board Plan through the provision of land management advice and education to private landholders, managers, community and industry groups, with a particular focus on pest plant and animal control, and water resource management. As an authorised officer under the Landscape South Australia Act 2019, the Sustainable Landscape Officer undertakes compliance activities focused on pest plant and animals and water affecting activities. The role also contributes to the management and delivery of externally funded projects, policy implementation and planning, within set timeframes.
The role will support private landholder engagement and the development of land management strategies to assist and ensure that landholders are informed and enabled to meet their legislative responsibilities.

About the Region
Situated at the foot of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island (KI) has unique and diverse natural resources underpinning a range of industries such as wool and sheep production, commercial fishing, and nature-based and farm-based tourism. Approximately one third of the island is dedicated to national parks and conservation reserves and is recognised as one of Australia's iconic national landscapes. The island covers an area of 4370 square kilometers, is home to approximately 4,700 residents and attracts more than 160,000 visitors each year.

Salary Range:
$92,122 - $102,456 p.a.
