About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and experienced Female Disability Support Worker to support a female NDIS participant.

This role involves assisting the participant with personal care, daily living activities, community participation, and promoting independence while ensuring the participant's dignity, privacy and cultural preferences are respected.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance.

- Assist with daily living activities and household tasks.

- Support community access and social participation.

- Assist with meal preparation and medication support (where authorised).

- Implement participant support plans and behaviour support strategies where applicable.

- Complete accurate progress notes and incident reports.

- Maintain participant dignity, privacy and confidentiality.

- Follow all NDIS Practice Standards, company policies and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Work collaboratively with families, coordinators and allied health professionals.

Essential Qualifications & Certifications

Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain before commencement:

- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability), Community Services, Mental Health, Aged Care or equivalent (preferred).

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

- Current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee).





- Current National Police Check.

- HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid.

- HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module – Quality, Safety and You.

- 100 Point ID

- Evidence of Australian working rights.

Mandatory Training

Applicants must have completed, or be willing to complete prior to commencement:

- Manual Handling / Safe Manual Handling Training.

- Infection Prevention and Control Training.

- Hand Hygiene Training.

- Clinical Waste and Waste Disposal Training.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training.

- Medication Administration Training (where applicable).

- Positive Behaviour Support Training (desirable).

- Restrictive Practices Awareness Training (where applicable).

- Food Safety and Infection Control Training.

- Fire Safety and Emergency Response Training.

- Incident Reporting and Risk Management Training.

- Abuse, Neglect and Mandatory Reporting Training.

- Privacy and Confidentiality Training.

- Cultural Awareness and Person-Centred Care Training.

Essential Skills

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

- Experience in disability, aged care, community services or healthcare is desirable but not essential.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Compassionate, respectful and professional approach.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Strong organisational and documentation skills.

- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, sleepovers or active nights where required.





Client-Specific Requirements

Due to the assessed needs of the participant, applicants must:

- Be female, as the role involves personal care and the participant has requested a female support worker to preserve her privacy, dignity and cultural preferences.

- Be fluent in spoken Hindi, as the participant primarily communicates in Hindi and effective communication is essential to safely deliver supports and build a therapeutic relationship.
