Porta is developing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Mount Gambier, creating an exciting opportunity for a motivated Maintenance Lubrication Technician to join our Maintenance team.

This is a unique chance to play a key role in the commissioning, establishment and ongoing operation of a major manufacturing facility. Working closely with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams, you will help implement lubrication and oil management practices that support safe, reliable and efficient plant performance.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting equipment reliability and operational performance through lubrication, oil management and supporting condition monitoring activities across the facility.

Responsibilities

- Perform lubrication activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures

- Conduct routine equipment inspections and reporting defects or abnormal conditions

- Collect oil samples and support oil analysis programs

- Maintain lubrication records and maintenance system data

- Manage lubricant storage areas, inventories and waste oil systems

- Ensure lubricants are stored, handled and applied correctly to minimise contamination





- Support commissioning activities and the establish lubrication standards across the site

- Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Engineering and Production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability

- Promote safe work practices and maintain high housekeeping standards

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

- Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in industrial equipment

- Experience in a manufacturing, maintenance or industrial environment

- Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- The ability to work independently and manage scheduled activities

- Basic computer skills and experience using maintenance management systems

- Knowledge of lubrication systems, lubricant handling practices and oil sampling processes will be highly regarded

- A commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Trade qualifications are not essential. We welcome applicants with relevant industry experience, strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

Pre-Employment Requirement

As part of our selection process, applicants must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including functional capacity, audiometric testing, and drug and alcohol screening.
