Making a difference

As the Visitor Services Team Leader, you'll play a key role in showcasing everything that makes Central Goldfields a excellent place to visit. Leading the Central Goldfields Visitor Centre, you'll inspire a team of staff and volunteers to deliver exceptional visitor experiences while promoting the region's unique attractions, events and experiences.

This role goes beyond day-to-day operations. You'll help strengthen the local visitor economy by supporting tourism businesses, fostering industry partnerships, driving destination marketing initiatives and enhancing the Visit Maryborough and Surrounds brand. You'll also support and empower a valued volunteer team, creating opportunities for community members to share their local knowledge, connect with visitors and contribute to the success of the region.

Your leadership and passion for tourism will help create memorable visitor experiences, encourage repeat visitation and contribute to the prosperity, vibrancy and connectedness of the Central Goldfields community.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated tourism professional who combines strong leadership skills with a passion for customer service and destination promotion.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Bring

- Experience in visitor services, tourism, destination marketing or a related customer-focused environment.
- Proven ability to lead, support and develop staff and volunteers, creating a positive and high-performing team culture.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing operations, administration and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with tourism operators, event organisers, businesses, community groups and visitors.
- Experience delivering digital marketing, website or social media content that promotes a destination, organisation or brand.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to make decisions, solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences and promoting the Central Goldfields region with enthusiasm and professionalism.
