Southern Cross Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 school offering families a co‑educational pathway to life‑long learning. Founded in 1995, the multi‑campus college operates as the principal Catholic college on the Redcliffe peninsula with campuses in Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point.

Position Summary

The Assistant Principal – Students provides strategic and operational leadership in student formation, wellbeing, and pastoral care. The role supports student learning and flourishing through a strong Catholic identity, a safe and inclusive learning environment, and high‑quality pastoral practices.

- Location: SCCC Secondary – Scarborough Campus
- Start date: January 2027
- Status: Full‑time Fixed Term (5 years with an additional 5-year offer upon review)
- Salary: $149,763 – $157,120 per annum + 12.5 % Super

Responsibilities

- Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a coherent Formation and Wellbeing Framework aligned with BCE priorities and the college context.
- Provide strategic leadership for student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement across the secondary campus, ensuring a proactive, inclusive and evidence‑informed approach.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding where the protection and wellbeing of students is the responsibility of all staff.
- Collaborate with the Campus Leadership Team to align vision, strategy and operational priorities with BCE expectations.




- Develop and sustain strong partnerships with parents and caregivers as active partners in student learning and wellbeing.
- Lead the development and implementation of student leadership structures and opportunities across the secondary campus.
- Work with the Assistant Principal – Curriculum and curriculum leaders to align student wellbeing with improved learning outcomes.
- Ensure all student wellbeing, behaviour and pastoral care policies align with BCE frameworks and legislative requirements.

About You

- Relevant contemporary skills and experience as an Assistant Principal, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or equivalent senior role supporting Catholic schools.
- Experience in teaching and leading the teaching of religious education.

Eligibility & Safeguarding Requirements

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
- Required to be Catholic or a faith partner of one of the ecumenical schools.
