Senior Legal Counsel | Global Medical Device Company | Broad Commercial Role

This is an opportunity to join the regional legal team of a global medical device company recognised for innovation, product quality and long-term investment in its people.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you'll become part of a small, collaborative legal team that is trusted by the wider business to provide practical, commercial advice on important strategic decisions.

The role has a strong focus on commercial contracting, while also offering exposure to M&A;, employment, compliance, governance, regulatory matters and strategic business initiatives.

You’ll work closely with an experienced General Counsel who is committed to developing lawyers and providing meaningful responsibility from day one.

Whether you're making your first move in‑house or already working within a legal team, you'll continue to build your commercial judgement through direct interaction with senior stakeholders and exposure to a genuinely broad range of legal work.

Rather than becoming siloed, you’ll develop into a trusted commercial adviser with responsibility for managing matters from instruction through to completion.

What work will you do?

In this role you will:

- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts.
- Partner closely with procurement, sales, HR and operational stakeholders.
- Advise on employment law matters including contracts, policies and workplace issues.
- Support governance, compliance and regulatory initiatives.
- Review marketing and advertising material.
- Assist with strategic business projects and occasional corporate transactions.
- Manage external legal advisers where appropriate.

What type of person will be successful?

You’ll ideally have:

- Admission as an Australian solicitor.
- Approximately 6+ years’ PQE.
- Robust commercial contracting experience gained in private practice, in‑house, or a combination of both.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- A pragmatic and commercially minded approach to legal advice.
- The confidence to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business.

Experience within healthcare, medical devices or another regulated industry would be highly regarded but is not essential.
