WebJet has been Australia and New Zealand's go-to for going places since 1998. From flights (domestic and international) to hotels, holiday packages, car hire, tours and travel insurance, we've got your whole trip handled. With more than 25 years of travel know-how built into every search, we’re by your side for every flight, stay, experience, and ride. Our home base is Melbourne, but we work hybrid. Tuesdays and Wednesdays we’re in the office together for collaboration, workshops and, yep, free food. We're a publicly listed company with big goals and an even bigger passion for travel. We're a high-performing, purpose-led team and we're on the lookout for like-minded people who share our ambition to make travel better, one journey at a time.
About this role
Our Data & Analytics team sits at the centre of how Webjet makes smarter decisions. As a Data/Analytics Engineer, you are the foundation that makes that possible. You build and maintain the reliable, scalable data infrastructure that Data Scientists, analysts, and business teams depend on every day. We are a curious, pragmatic team. We ask hard questions, but we also know when good enough is the right call to deliver short-term value. If you take pride in clean, reliable pipelines, robust data models, and infrastructure that just works - this is the role for you.
About You
You're a curious and pragmatic Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex data challenges and turning business requirements into scalable, reliable data solutions. You have hands‑on experience with modern data platforms and tooling, strong SQL and Python skills, and a solid foundation in data modelling and quality practices. You're comfortable taking ownership, collaborating across teams and communicating technical concepts clearly.
If you're also exploring the potential of AI and machine learning in the data space, even better.

- Support and enhance our data warehouse and lakehouse environment through effective data modelling, optimisation and data management practices.
- Implement data quality, monitoring and observability processes to ensure data is accurate, reliable and trusted.
- Develop and manage orchestration workflows using tools such as Airflow, dbt or similar, ensuring data pipelines are robust, maintainable and scalable.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate data from APIs, event streams and databases, creating reliable and well-documented data solutions.
- Enable self-service analytics by developing intuitive data models and semantic layers that support reporting and business intelligence.
- Partner with Data Scientists and analytics teams to support machine learning, AI initiatives and the development of AI-powered reporting and insights.
