Senior Manager, Risk Enablement (Business)

As a key first line risk role, you’ll partner closely with senior business leaders to embed effective risk management across strategy, change, and day‑to‑day operations, translating risk and regulatory expectations into practical, business‑aligned outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage key business and operational risks
- Provide pragmatic first line risk, control, and compliance advice across business activities, initiatives, and transformation programs
- Contribute to risk profiling and control effectiveness activities, including identification of material risks, key controls, and KRIs
- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of controls, ensuring they are embedded and fit‑for‑purpose
- Monitor compliance with policies, standards, and regulatory obligations, proactively identifying and escalating emerging risks
- Support the management of incidents, issues, and remediation actions, ensuring timely and sustainable resolution
- Deliver clear, concise risk reporting and insights to stakeholders and governance forums
- Drive uplift in risk capability, culture, and first line ownership across the business




- Contribute to risk governance activities and engagement with second line and assurance teams
- Maintain awareness of regulatory expectations and industry best practice, translating these into actionable outcomes

Your Experience

- 6+ years’ experience in non‑financial risk (operational and/or data risk) within a regulated environment
- Solid understanding of non‑financial risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory obligations
- Proven experience assessing controls and partnering with stakeholders to uplift risk maturity
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, balancing effective risk management with commercial outcomes
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements across data, technology, and operational risk domains
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to simplify complex risk concepts
- A pragmatic, outcomes‑focused approach with sound judgement

This Sydney‑based permanent role requires Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
