Due to a strong and growing pipeline of consultancy and advanced integration work, Beca is seeking an Automation, Telemetry & SCADA Engineer / Consultant to join our team in Newcastle, NSW. Working amongst a group of highly motivated professionals, you will step into an open and supportive culture that values the skills you can contribute. You will design and implement critical infrastructure that powers industry—from high‑voltage power distribution and motor control to automation, protection systems, and cutting-edge industrial electrification.

About You

You are an enthusiastic, capable engineer who enjoys learning and wants to grow.



You’ll be embarking on your career and have experience in Automation, Telemetry, SCADA, or Industrial Communications. This experience will be in PLC and SCADA development; telemetry, radio, and communications systems and server and networking fundamentals. Alongside an ability to travel to meet project needs you will have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as project planning, documentation and reporting experience.

Experience or Knowledge

- Geo SCADA, Citect SCADA and/or other SCADA platforms
- Radio, modem, Ethernet and IP networking
- IEC-based PLC and telemetry programming
- Industry protocols and OT networking
- Cyber security fundamentals
- Smart tools and systems database development
- Electrical background or licence (advantageous, not required)
