About the Role

As a Learning Specialist, you will deliver trauma-informed online education and support to students experiencing significant barriers to school engagement, including those living in emergency accommodation. Working alongside carers, schools and support services, you will create flexible and engaging learning opportunities that promote academic achievement, wellbeing and connection, helping vulnerable young people remain engaged in education during times of uncertainty and change.

We are seeking passionate educators for multiple full-time and part-time fixed-term positions through to December 2026, with potential for ongoing employment.

Based in Melbourne’s Metro West these roles offer flexible working arrangements. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full‑time or part‑time hours.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging, trauma-informed online learning tailored to individual student needs.
- Build positive relationships with students to enhance confidence, participation and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with carers, schools and support services to support student wellbeing and educational success.
- Maintain accurate student records, case notes, assessments and reports.
- Monitor and contribute to program risk management, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Assist with the development and review of program practices, procedures and resources.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, professional development and other operational activities as required.

Key Selection Criteria

- A relevant Degree along with experience in education.




- Demonstrated ability to independently develop and implement tailored plans that support student wellbeing, engagement and outcomes.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families.
- Experience working with children and young people who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education.
- Experience working with children and young people experiencing family violence and/or homelessness will be highly regarded.
- Experience in planning and delivering education in an online setting.

- Valid and current Driver’s Licence
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
- Valid Employee Working with Children Check
- Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles)
