Job Overview: The Transport Allocator schedules pick‑up and delivery for the InfraBuild Recycling internal and contract fleet, ensuring customer promises are met while maintaining safety and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Apply and reinforce all InfraBuild Recycling policies and procedures related to health and safety values in transport.
- Report hazards and incidents immediately.
- Manage and coordinate fleet transport operations within the transport network, in line with documented safe operating procedures.
- Check drivers’ qualifications and verify competencies against InfraBuild requirements.
- Maintain productive use of freight options and contract arrangements while providing high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Support deliver‑in‑full and on‑time programs and work practices (DIFOT).
- Liaise with NSW Transport Manager on actions to improve freight related customer‑service outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience allocating a varied fleet of vehicles.
- Certificate III/IV in transport/logistics (desirable).
- Previous industry experience – scrap metal recycling, mining, heavy industrial (desirable).
- Knowledge of the delivery area and routes.
- Knowledge of load configuration and restraint requirements.
- Knowledge of vehicle types and capacity restrictions.
- Working knowledge of NSW transport legislation and regulations.
- Working knowledge of chain of responsibility obligations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with intermediate level computer skills (email, spreadsheets, word processing).
