Base pay range

A$130,000.00/yr - A$170,000.00/yr

MARS is partnering with a well-established and growing construction business to recruit a Payroll Manager. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to take ownership of the national payroll function for a workforce of over 700 employees. In this role, you'll lead the charge on optimising systems and processes, including playing a key role in the review and potential implementation of a new payroll system.

The Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee end-to-end weekly and fortnightly in-house payroll processing, ensuring full compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Oversee payroll reporting, reconciliations, and workers' compensation processes with accuracy and timeliness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across payroll systems, identifying and implementing opportunities for increased efficiency and automation.
- Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing payroll team, while ensuring strict confidentiality and the integrity of payroll data.

The Requirements:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll functions, ideally within the construction industry.
- Prior involvement in payroll system implementation is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.




- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while consistently meeting deadlines.
