About the Role

We're seeking an experienced SOE Engineer to lead the design, build and validation of a Windows Server 2025 Standard Operating Environment (SOE) within a large-scale Federal Government ICT environment.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to an experienced infrastructure engineer who enjoys designing secure, enterprise-grade server environments while working closely with infrastructure, security and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

You'll be responsible for:

- Designing and building a secure Windows Server 2025 SOE

- Developing and maintaining server images to agreed standards

- Producing technical design, build and implementation documentation

- Planning and executing technical testing and validation activities

- Implementing server security hardening and configuration standards

- Collaborating with infrastructure, security and operational teams throughout delivery

- Providing technical advice and recommendations across design, build and testing phases

- Supporting successful transition into operational support

About You

To be successful, you'll have:

- Proven experience designing and implementing Windows Server SOEs within large enterprise environments





- Strong hands-on experience building, configuring and deploying Windows Server platforms

- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality technical design and implementation documentation

- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy

- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills

- Experience working within Federal Government or other highly regulated ICT environments

Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following is highly regarded:

- Microsoft certifications

- Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)

- CIS Benchmarks

- Infrastructure automation and scripting

- Modern deployment technologies

- Server hardening, compliance and operational readiness
