Innisfail Meals on Wheels is seeking a motivated, organised, and community-focused professional to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator / Picker-Packer.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of essential meal services to members of the Innisfail community while working within a supportive and professional environment.

About the Role

The Volunteer Coordinator / Picker-Packer is responsible for coordinating volunteers, managing client meal ordering processes, and assisting with the receiving, preparation, packing, and dispatch of meals for client deliveries.

The position supports the productive day-to-day operation of the service while ensuring high standards of customer service, food safety, accuracy, and volunteer engagement are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinating volunteer rosters and daily delivery schedules.

- Communicating with volunteers regarding operational requirements and roster changes.

- Managing client meal orders, dietary requirements, and maintaining accurate records.

- Receiving incoming meals from Cairns Meals on Wheels on Tuesday and Thursday.

- Assisting with meal preparation and delivery to clients on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

- Picking and packing meals in accordance with client orders and food safety requirements.

- Preparing delivery documentation, eskies, and dispatch materials.

- Assisting with stock rotation and inventory monitoring.





- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and workplace compliance.

- Supporting the overall smooth operation of the service.

About You

Essential Requirements

- Current Police Check.

- Current Driver Licence preferred.

- Ability to undertake manual handling duties.

- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

- Commitment to confidentiality and respectful client service.
