ABOUT THE ROLE:In this role, you’ll assess planning permit applications, provide high‑quality planning advice, and work closely with applicants, internal teams and the community to deliver positive planning outcomes.
This position is ideal for a graduate or early‑career planner looking to build hands‑on experience across a broad range of statutory planning matters, supported by a collaborative and skilled team.
Key aspects of the role include:Assessing planning permit applications in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act, Subdivision Act and the Bass Coast Planning SchemeResponding to planning enquiries from the public, applicants and other stakeholdersPreparing planning reports, correspondence and statutory noticesConducting site inspections and assisting with the processing of subdivision plansLiaising with internal and external stakeholders, including referrals authorities and VCAT when required
A BIT ABOUT YOU:You’re a proactive and customer‑focused planner who enjoys working with a diverse range of stakeholders. You bring strong communication skills, sound judgement and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced planning environment.You will also have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline, some experience in a statutory planning environment (preferred, not essential) and the ability to analyse planning information and apply legislation and policy.
