Position: Mechanical Engineer
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
Mode: Full-time
Hours: 38 hours per week

DMC Electrical and Air Cooling Pty Ltd is a well-established provider of commercial and residential electrical, air conditioning, HVAC, and sheet metal solutions, proudly servicing Condon and surrounding regions for nearly 40 years. The company specialises in the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical air conditioning and ventilation systems, delivering high-quality solutions tailored to each client's needs.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineer with solid experience in HVAC system design, ductwork engineering, heat load calculations, AutoCAD drafting, and project management.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Design HVAC and ventilation systems for commercial and residential projects, ensuring efficient, practical, and compliant mechanical solutions.
• Perform heat load calculations and airflow analysis to determine equipment capacities and optimise system performance.
• Prepare detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings and 3D mechanical models for ductwork layouts, plant rooms, and equipment installations.
• Design ducting systems, select suitable mechanical equipment, and prepare technical specifications for fabrication and installation.
• Manage multiple mechanical projects from design through to installation and commissioning, ensuring completion within agreed budgets and timeframes.
• Prepare engineering documentation including mechanical drawings, material schedules, equipment selections,



fabrication details, and project reports.
• Estimate material quantities, project costs, labour requirements, and procurement schedules to support successful project delivery.
• Conduct site inspections, testing, commissioning, and performance assessments to verify system functionality and identify engineering improvements where required.
• Analyse technical data, resolve engineering issues, and recommend practical solutions to improve system efficiency, constructability, and operational performance.
• Liaise closely with electrical, refrigeration, sheet metal, and construction teams to ensure seamless coordination across multidisciplinary projects.
• Ensure all engineering designs, installations, and completed works comply with relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC), workplace health and safety legislation, and contractual requirements.

Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a similar role.

Other Skills and Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC system design, duct design, and heat load calculations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and experience developing 3D mechanical drawings/models.
• Strong project coordination and project management skills within mechanical services or HVAC projects.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC requirements, and mechanical engineering principles relating to air conditioning and ventilation systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and attention to detail.
