Manager Operational Technology (OT)About the RoleAn established critical infrastructure organisation is seeking an experienced Manager Operational Technology (OT) to lead the operation, optimisation, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise Operational Technology environments.This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance and long-term strategic development of industrial control systems that underpin essential operational services. Leading a team of engineers and technical specialists, you will drive OT strategy, cybersecurity, asset management, risk management, and engineering excellence across a complex operational environment.The position offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of OT systems while ensuring safe, reliable and efficient service delivery across a large-scale asset portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Technology Leadership
- Lead the management, operation and optimisation of Operational Technology and Industrial Control Systems environments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across OT infrastructure, processes and governance.
- Develop and implement long-term OT strategies, standards and technology roadmaps.
- Ensure the ongoing performance, reliability and availability of critical control systems.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Lead the OT Cybersecurity Program and associated security initiatives.
- Maintain the safety, security and integrity of OT environments against both physical and cyber threats.
- Establish and manage OT risk frameworks, compliance activities and audit programs.
- Ensure regulatory and statutory obligations are met through effective governance and controls.
Asset & Engineering Management
- Oversee lifecycle management of industrial control system assets.
- Deliver agreed service levels while balancing operational performance, risk and cost.
- Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
- Support project planning, business case development and capital investment initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, executive stakeholders, regulators, vendors and external partners.
- Provide technical leadership and advice across business-critical initiatives.
- Influence organisational decisions relating to OT strategy, risk and future technology investments.
What you'll need to succeed
Skills & Experience Required
- Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Significant experience leading Operational Technology (OT) environments within a complex, asset-intensive organisation.
- Extensive knowledge of Industrial Control Systems (ICS), automation and control system technologies.
- Strong experience managing OT cybersecurity programs and associated governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated success managing risk, compliance and audit activities within critical operational environments.
- Proven experience building, leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Experience developing and implementing technology strategies, roadmaps and continuous improvement programs.
- Robust understanding of asset management principles and operational service delivery.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing capability at multiple organisational levels.
- Experience delivering complex industrial automation, electrical or control system projects.
