About Seed Foundation Australia:

Seed Foundation Australia provides wraparound support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, including students from rural and remote communities, providing pathways into higher education and employment.

Seed Employment is a Group Training Organisation who specialises in providing Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities to people looking to launch their career in a range of industries including the Health and Community Services industries. Seed Employment operates within Seed Foundation as a Social Enterprise. All profits from Seed Employment go back into funding the work Seed Foundation Australia delivers.

Through our network we are able to provide a complete wraparound training, employment and support model for our trainees, apprentices and host employers.

In the South Queensland (SQ) region, we are currently seeking a motivated, passionate and engaging Pathways Support Officer - Employment to join our SQ team across the Toowoomba (Darling Downs) Region.

About the roles:

Seed Foundation Australia currently has exciting opportunities for proactive and energetic employment and education/training support individuals to become part of the team as a Pathways Support Officer - Employment. This role will be a highly rewarding and unique prospect supporting First Nations and non Indigenous youth to achieve their education goals and career aspirations.

The Pathways Support Officers - Employment are responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality services which support Seed Foundation Australia and Seed Employment’s clients to access pathways into higher education and employment. Client access to and support of sustainable employment opportunities through Seed Employment for people looking to launch their career through traineeships and apprenticeships across the region is a key driver of the Pathways Support Officer - Employment roles.

Please note that regular travel throughout the region you apply is required in this role.

Key responsibilities associated with the role include:

Seed Foundation Australia

- Providing mentoring and wrap around support to Seed students and alumni within the region utilising the Seed triage model including:

- Support completing VET Cert II & III qualifications

- Career pathway planning & job readiness

- Social emotional wellbeing support - inc referral

- Assistance with transport, IT access & other barriers to education & employment

- Cultural support

- Access to employment & workplace supports





- Providing leadership and direction to Schools, Vet coordinators, Host employers and Trainees.

- Ensuring effective collaboration with other members of Seed’s program teams and other staff throughout the Seed and CNG Group, including Minimum monthly meetings with CNG EHT’s & Host Employers.

- Ensuring effective collaboration with key external stakeholders involved in the support and success of students and trainees including, parents, Tertiary institutes, community.

- Managing database and general administration of Seed PSO regional cohorts.

- Documenting visits, contacts and compiling reports for management as required.

- Regular engagement with Seed post school Alumni student pool supporting transition into further education and employment.

Seed Employment

- Support and Monitor Seed E Trainees and Apprentices in line with Group Training national quality standards.

- Support and mentor Trainees and take appropriate action to resolve work-related issues and refer appropriately for non-work-related issues,

- Regular regional travel to support and mentor trainees.

- Identify and diffuse potential problems relating to work performance, training issues, pay enquiries, absenteeism and any other areas identified by the Host employer or the trainee as being problematic.

- Promoting traineeship vacancies to relevant communities, Seed Alumni and industries through appropriate methods.

- Lead the Recruitment of traineeships including induction, undertaking monitoring visits on both a pre-arranged basis as well as on an as needs basis, administration and communicating regularly – face-to-face wherever possible with all parties.

- Ensuring effective collaboration with other members of Seed & SeedE’s program teams and other staff throughout the Seed and CNG Group, including Minimum monthly meetings with CNG EHT’s & Host Employers.

- Ensuring effective collaboration with key external stakeholders involved in the support and success of SeedE employees including, ACAPs, RTO’s, Host Employers, Supervisors, Parents and Community.





- Managing database and general administration.

- Documenting visits, contacts and compiling reports for management.

Business and Community Development

Identifying and engaging potential recent clients and business through:

- Promoting the range of services provided by Seed Foundation and Seed Employment to Host Employers, Tertiary Institutes and Community Stakeholders.

- Developing links with schools to promote employment opportunities.

- Effective collaboration with Seed and Seed Employment staff.

- Seeking referrals from existing contacts.

- Connecting with stakeholders through LinkedIn and other social media sources.

- Relationships with existing clients, for example, seeking feedback on service delivery, exploring opportunities to deliver additional services or expand delivery into new parts of the client’s operations.

- Identifying Business Development opportunities with potential customers who are aspiring, start-up or existing business operators.

- Represent the organisation at appropriate forums leading towards the promotion of the organisations to either potential trainees or potential Host Employers.

- Establishing partnerships with like-minded community groups and organisations.

What you will need to succeed:

Above all, you are passionate about the difference that education and employment pathways can make on individuals and communities. In addition to this, you have experience in:

1. Experience in mentoring and performance management of employees and or students

2. Business Development experience and or ability to engage new potential Employers/Businesses

3. Currently hold or able to obtain a positive Working with Children Blue Card

4. Current drivers licence and willingness to travel within your region

5. Maintaining high level stakeholder relationships

6. Knowledge and understanding of the IEP, VET Systems, Group Training and JSA

7. Knowledge and understanding of cultural and other issues relevant to Australia's First Peoples

8. Self-motivated

9. Strong attention to detail

10. High-level communication and leadership ability

11. Problem-solving and conflict management skills
