We are recruiting a Practitioner (1-5 years’ PQE) to join our Brisbane Insurance team focusing on public liability, CTP, and general insurance matters.

The Role

A career opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer or Associate (1-5 years’ PQE) to join our Insurance team in Brisbane. In this role you will be working with David Slatyer and his team across a range of insurance advisory and litigation matters, including public liability, CTP, and general insurance.

Responsibilities

- File management including meeting deadlines and managing documents
- Reviewing evidence and preparing advices on indemnity, liability and quantum
- Communicating with clients both in writing and verbally
- Identifying issues, briefing experts and analysing opinion
- Preparing court documents, including defences and affidavit evidence
- Preparing for,



managing online processes and appearing in court. This includes attending settlement conferences and mediations
- Briefing and liaising with counsel

Qualifications

- Between 1-5 years’ PQE with insurance work, ideally from a defendant law firm
- Strong advocacy skills with the ability to assess complex cases effectively
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills with a strong client service focus
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with experience in managing conflicting priorities
- Excellent attention to detail
