Job Details

Title: Research Fellow in Geodynamic Modeling & Surface Processes

Location: Clayton campus

Employment Type: Full-time

Duration: 2-year fixed-term appointment

Remuneration: $86,195 - $116,981 pa Level A (plus 17% employer superannuation)

Responsibilities

- Conduct high‑performance computing simulations and geochemical modelling to investigate landscape evolution and carbon cycling
- Integrate complex surface process simulations with tectonic frameworks to quantify the impact of weathering, erosion, transport, and sedimentation on Cenozoic carbon budgets
- Bridge landscape evolution theory with carbon sequestration science to establish a physical basis for Earth’s long‑term climate resilience
- Actively contribute to the broader research goals of the international, multi‑disciplinary project team




- Publish high‑quality research findings in leading international journals and present at relevant conferences

Qualifications

- PhD in Geodynamics, Geomorphology or a closely related field
- Experience utilising high‑performance computing (HPC) and/or geodynamic or surface process modelling framework
- Technical agility to develop and implement recent computational workflows as required by the project
