UOW College Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of Wollongong. Since 1988, we have been offering students alternative entry to UOW through university preparation courses. Our product offerings include Academic programs (Higher Education Diplomas and University Access Programs), English Programs, and Vocational programs.

Academic Teaching Opportunities – Diploma of Education Studies

About the Role

Academic Teachers at UOW College Australia are responsible for delivering high professional standards of teaching and supporting students’ academic progression across academic pathway programs.

This recruitment process will support upcoming teaching needs associated with the launch of a new Diploma of Education, including an Indigenous subject to be delivered at both UOW College Australia Wollongong and Liverpool campuses, and a new Indigenous Arts subject within the Diploma of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (ASSH) to be delivered at the Wollongong campus.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver classes in line with approved syllabi, subject outlines, and academic standards.
- Prepare and document lessons and learning materials in the prescribed format.
- Complete assessment and marking associated with timetabled teaching.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assessment, and performance.
- Provide timely feedback and academic guidance to students.
- Refer students to appropriate support services when required.
- Work collaboratively with Subject Coordinators, Program Managers and College staff.
- Participate in moderation, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance with academic policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

Selection Criteria The successful candidate will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification and recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching in a tertiary, pathway, or enabling education context.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills,



with experience working with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- A student-centred and professional approach to teaching, with a commitment to academic quality and continuous improvement.
- A clear Working with Children Check
- Certified proof of right to work in Australia.
