Role Overview
This is an important role in a busy, fast-paced environment where you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal and compliance advice within Holcim's risk appetite. You will advise on a wide range of legal issues across areas including construction, transport, property, planning, commercial and corporate, procurement, safety, environmental, and insurance. You will maintain and deliver Holcim's compliance program to ensure integrity and transparency, including assisting with policies, procedures, and internal audits. Responsibilities
- Provide timely, accurate, concise, and appropriate advice for the commercial context.
- Understand Holcim's risk appetite and apply that knowledge in advice.
- Support other legal team members.
- Drive continuous improvement of the legal knowledge centre.
- Research new areas of law as required to ensure readiness for changes in legislation.
- Prepare brief advice and matter summaries under supervision of senior lawyers.
- Maintain and deliver the approved compliance program to ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and Group requirements, fostering integrity and transparency.
- Assist with compliance policies, procedures and internal audits.
- Support the legal and compliance training plan, reporting requirements, communications, and follow-ups.
- Actively lead and promote a safety culture at all times.
About You
- LLB.
- BBus (highly valued).
- Certificate in Compliance and Risk Management or similar qualification (highly valued).
- Emerging Post Qualification Experience or an experienced paralegal with credible corporate or law firm experience.
- Proven experience working autonomously against a set annual program.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Robust influencing skills.
- High level of legal and commercial acumen.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
- Extensive Microsoft and Google Suite experience.
- Experience with an e-billing platform.
- Experience with AI tools.
