We are seeking an experienced Associate Geotechnical Engineer with approximately 8–10 years of industry experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a well-rounded geotechnical professional who is already managing projects and client relationships independently and is ready to take the next step into a broader leadership position. You'll play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects, developing client relationships, mentoring junior staff and helping strengthen the technical capability of the wider business.
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity, while contributing to technical excellence, business development and team growth. Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust client relationships and prepare fee proposals for a wide range of projects.
Scope,
plan and manage geotechnical investigations from inception through to completion.
Undertake geotechnical analysis and prepare design reports for foundations, retaining structures, pavements, earthworks and related infrastructure.
Collaborate with geologists, engineers and other disciplines to deliver practical and buildable solutions.
Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and project stakeholders.
Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers both in the office and on site.
Assist with project resourcing, workflow management and technical reviews across the business.
Contribute to the ongoing development and sharing of technical knowledge within the team. About you
You are an experienced geotechnical engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong client relationships and helping others develop their careers.
You are looking for a role that offers greater responsibility, increased influence on project delivery and the opportunity to contribute to both technical and business leadership. You will bring:
Solid geotechnical engineering experience across site investigations, laboratory and in-situ testing interpretation, and geotechnical analysis.
Demonstrated experience managing projects and delivering high-quality outcomes for clients.
A sound understanding of geotechnical design principles, including foundations, retaining structures, settlement assessment, earthworks and slope stability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Proven ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with a diverse range of clients.
A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or the ability to obtain chartership in the near future.
Desirable
Qualifications and Experience
Postgraduate qualifications in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology.
Experience working within the Sydney and broader NSW (including ACT) geotechnical environment.
Strong project management and commercial awareness, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
