We are currently seeking to employee an Automation Technician to join the I2R team.
As an Automation Technician, you will be working on industrial electrical controls projects for some of Australia's largest food & beverage processors, Agribusiness and Water/Waste Water providers.
This position is based in the Brisbane, with occasional pre scheduled interstate travel.
As an Automation Engineer you will:
- Deliver automation solutions across the full project lifecycle — from system design and functional specifications through to programming, in office commissioning, and handover
- Work on a variety of control systems including Rockwell, Siemens, and Codesys-based PLCs
- Develop and commission SCADA systems, including Ignition and Citect SCADA
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system faults across a broad range of industries
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose automation solutions
- Travel nationally to support on-site commissioning as required
The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrated experience in PLC programming, commissioning and fault finding
- Familiarity with Ignition or a strong willingness to learn
- Solid understanding of industrial control systems and SCADA platforms
- Familiarity with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.)
- Excellent computer literacy and technical aptitude
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to safe work practices and professional conduct
- Effective time management and the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- A logical, solution-focused mindset and a desire to continuously improve
