Role Description The Automotive General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Newcastle Area. This role oversees day-to-day dealership operations across new and used vehicle sales, finance and insurance, service, and parts departments to ensure consistent performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include setting and monitoring sales and profitability targets, developing and implementing operational processes, and maintaining compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

The General

Manager leads and mentors department managers and staff, supports recruitment and training efforts,



and promotes a positive workplace culture. This role also involves maintaining strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, and partners, managing budgets and forecasting, and driving initiatives that support growth and community engagement.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in automotive dealership management or a similar leadership role, with responsibility for sales, service, and parts operations.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams, including department managers and frontline staff.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and achieving financial targets.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-management skills, with a focus on long-term client retention.
- Solid understanding of automotive sales processes, F&I; practices, and after-sales service operations.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple functions in a fast-paced setting.
- Comfort with using dealership management systems and common digital tools for reporting and performance tracking.
- Relevant qualifications in business, management, or a related field are beneficial; automotive-specific training or certifications are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Newcastle Area and engage actively with the local community.
