About the Role We are seeking a motivated and analytical Business Analyst with systems and financial modelling experience to support business improvement initiatives, system implementation projects, financial analysis, and operational reporting.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business processes, develop financial models, analyse data, and support strategic decision-making. The role offers exposure to project development, capital transactions, organisational systems, financial planning, and business improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking to develop a career combining business analysis, systems improvement, financial modelling, and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities Business Analysis
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements from stakeholders.
- Develop process maps, workflows, and business requirement documentation.
- Assist in preparing business cases and solution recommendations.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and system implementation activities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented solutions and recommend ongoing improvements. Systems & Technology
- Assist with the implementation, administration, and optimisation of business systems.
- Support systems integration, data migration, and process automation initiatives.
- Maintain system documentation, user guides, and training materials.
- Investigate system issues and liaise with software vendors and service providers.
- Support the continual improvement of organisational systems and reporting capabilities.
- Assist with implementation and optimisation of finance, project management, and reporting platforms.
Financial
Analysis & Modelling
- Assist with the development and maintenance of financial models for business planning, project feasibility, and investment analysis.
- Support feasibility assessments, scenario modelling, and sensitivity analysis.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts, budget analysis, and financial reporting.
- Analyse project and operational financial performance and identify key trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, investment committee papers, and management reports.
- Support strategic planning through financial and operational analysis. Data & Reporting
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Analyse operational and financial data to provide actionable insights.
- Develop and maintain reporting tools to improve business visibility.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems.
- Provide first-level support and training to system users.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to capture requirements and improvement opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships across multiple business functions.
- Communicate project progress, findings, and recommendations effectively.
Skills & Experience Essential
- Aligned with the values of the Christian Faith and able to work collaboratively in a Christian organisation and Christian faith aligned clients and partners.
- Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Information Systems, Economics, Data Analytics,
Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1-3 years' experience in a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Financial Analyst, Project
Coordinator, or similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience documenting business requirements and business processes.
- Experience using data visualisation, database, and data transformation tools such as Power BI,
Tableau, SQL, Databricks, and Power Query.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, forecasting, scenario analysis,
data analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated exposure to financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, feasibility analysis, or investment evaluation.
- Familiarity with business systems such as ERP systems, CRM platforms, financial management systems, and project management systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational capability.
- Ability to balance financial analysis and reporting responsibilities with hands-on data management tasks, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of information within
MYOB, Procore,
and other business systems.
- Practical experience using AI tools to improve work efficiency, support analysis, automate routine tasks, and enhance reporting or business processes. Desirable
- Experience developing or maintaining financial models for property, infrastructure, development, capital projects, corporate finance, or investment analysis.
- Understanding of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), sensitivity analysis, and scenario modelling.
- Experience supporting system implementations and business transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with accounting, budgeting, and management reporting processes.
- Experience with platforms such as Xero, MYOB, Procore, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or equivalent business systems.
- Construction sector experience highly desirable.
