Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for baking who's ready to step up and lead a high-performing team? At Earlyrise Baking Co, we're on the lookout for a Cake Department Team Leader to join our production team and help craft our full range of cakes and sweet treats — including sponges, mud cakes, celebration and occasion cakes, cheesecakes, slices, croissants, muffins, cookies and more.

Reporting to the Cake Department Supervisor, you'll work alongside the team to ensure smooth production, consistent quality, and a strong, collaborative culture — stepping up to lead the department in the Supervisor's absence.

? Shift Details

This is a permanent full-time position with a consistent weekly schedule:

Monday to Friday | 8:00 am – 5:30 pm

About the Role In your role as Cake Department Team Leader, your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support the Supervisor: Assist the Cake Department Supervisor in day-to-day operations and take charge of the department in their absence.
- Lead by Example:



Guide and mentor the team while working shoulder to shoulder in daily production.
- Schedule & Resource Coordination: Help ensure production schedules are met by coordinating staff duties and managing ingredient and supply orders.
- Champion Food Safety: Uphold and exceed cleanliness, Food Safety, and Positive Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.

About You

- Previous supervisory, team leadership, or 2IC experience in manufacturing or food production (or readiness to step into a leadership role).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bakery, cake production, or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- While not mandatory, an AQF qualification in Baking, Patisserie, or a related food production qualification would be highly regarded.
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Standards.
- Physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (maximum 25kg).
