Mercado is on the hunt for a passionate and reliable Cook / Kitchen Team Member to join our crew. We serve authentic food with traditional flavours and are on a mission to create a new experience in hospitality with a robust focus on breakfast, inspired by Mexican cuisine.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, takes pride in every plate, and wants to be part of this creative journey and our community.

Your Role:

- Prepare food to Mercado standards: fast, fresh, consistent
- Run smooth breakfast service operations
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures
- Assist with stocktake and prep list planning
- Assist with ordering
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen throughout your shift
- Restock service stations (grill, pass, bain-marie) as needed
- Follow food safety protocols: temp logs, sanitising, HACCP
- Complete shift reports and communicate effectively with the team and with front of house

What You Bring:

- Breakfast experience (preferred)
- Strong attention to detail, speed, initiative, and cleanliness.
- Passion for food and consistency.
- Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic.
- Propensity for systems
