Our client is a privately held, technology-enabled trading business headquartered in Sydney, with a strong international footprint and genuine momentum. This is a newly created leadership role, the first person to hold full end-to-end ownership of product and technology at a company scaling fast, with a founder who wants a true partner in the room, not a report.

This is not a maintenance role. It's a build role, for someone who wants the mandate and the autonomy to match.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Founder and CEO, you'll take complete ownership of the product and technology function: product, engineering, data, and systems all under one remit. You'll have direct founder access, real budget authority, and the latitude to assess what exists, decide what needs to change, and build the function this business needs for its next phase of growth.

What You'll Own

- A full, explicit-eyed assessment of the existing technology stack, identifying technical debt and setting the remediation roadmap
- Product vision and roadmap across a live CFD trading platform, proprietary trading infrastructure, and a new digital asset vertical
- The shift from a business where retention is carried by customer service to one where the product itself creates stickiness




- Engineering velocity as a hard metric: delivery cadences, sprint standards, and product health frameworks that leadership can actually rely on
- A structured intake and prioritisation model that protects engineering from ad-hoc pressure across the business
- The product and technology foundation for a new crypto vertical, targeting material revenue within two to three years
- Attracting, developing, and retaining high-calibre engineers and product managers across a scaling, multi-business-unit structure

Who You Are

- A product leader with real engineering credibility, or an engineering leader with a genuine product instinct. Either way, you operate across both worlds fluently
- Experienced running product and engineering across multiple squads or business units at once, not just a single team
- Someone who can walk into a complex, imperfect technology ecosystem, assess it with clear eyes, and make the right calls on what to fix first, without waiting for permission
- A strong enough stakeholder operator to protect engineering focus from the business while still keeping the business moving
- Background in fintech, online trading, CFD or forex platforms, digital assets, or another fast-paced, high-volume digital environment
- A track record inside a scale-up or high-growth company navigating a genuine revenue inflection point, not just steady-state growth
- Genuinely comfortable with ambiguity, and energised, not drained, by building structure where none currently exists
