Role Description The Civil Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Brisbane Area. This role involves preparing civil engineering designs and documentation for land development, roadways, and stormwater management systems, ensuring compliance with local standards and regulations. Day-to-day tasks include developing concept and detailed designs using relevant software, coordinating with project managers, surveyors, and other specialists, and reviewing site data, reports, and plans.
The Civil Design
Engineer will support subdivision layouts, grading and drainage plans, and infrastructure servicing designs, as well as assist with technical reports, design reviews, and responses to authority approvals.
The role also includes collaborating with construction teams, providing design clarifications, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to produce accurate, compliant design documentation.
Skills in Land Development design, including subdivision layouts, site grading, and infrastructure planning.
Experience with Stormwater Management design, including drainage systems, detention/retention, and flood mitigation in line with local regulations.
Competence in Roadway Design, including alignments, cross-sections, and associated infrastructure for residential and urban projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline; eligibility for or membership in relevant professional engineering bodies is an advantage.
Proficiency with civil design and CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D or similar) and ability to interpret survey data and geotechnical reports.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with clients and authorities.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and commitment to safety, quality, and sustainable design practices.
