Not Your Average Commercial Role!
The gates are about to open on another incredible Spring Racing Carnival—and we’re looking for a Commercial Manager who’s ready to hit the ground running.
This isn’t your average commercial role.
One day you’ll be closing a major corporate partnership. The next you’ll be selling premium hospitality for one of Melbourne’s biggest racedays, developing new event opportunities, or unlocking new commercial opportunities across our venues.
If you’re driven by commercial success, love building relationships and thrive in a fast-paced sporting and events environment, this is your prospect to lead a high-performing team and shape the commercial future of one of Australia’s premier racing clubs.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer, you’ll lead a team of two Sales Executives across:
·Raceday Sales
·Partnerships & Sponsorship
Together, you’ll be responsible for delivering ambitious revenue targets while creating exceptional experiences for our customers, partners and guests.
You’ll drive new business, grow existing accounts, identify fresh commercial opportunities and work across every part of the Club to maximise revenue throughout the year.
What You’ll Be Doing
·Lead and inspire a team of commercial sales professionals.
·Develop and execute commercial strategies that deliver revenue growth.
·Grow premium raceday hospitality and corporate sales.
·Secure and retain commercial partnerships and sponsorships.
·Build long-term relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders.
·Identify innovative commercial opportunities across the Club.
·Collaborate with Marketing, Racing, Events and Hospitality teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
·Monitor commercial performance, forecasting and sales pipelines.
About You
You’re a commercially minded leader who loves winning new business and developing lasting relationships.
You enjoy leading people, thinking strategically and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when it matters most.
You’ll bring
·Proven experience leading a commercial, sales or business development team.
·A track record of achieving ambitious revenue targets.
·Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
·Confidence presenting to senior decision makers.
·Commercial curiosity and a proactive approach to finding new opportunities.
·Experience in sport, events, hospitality or entertainment (highly regarded but not essential).
Why You’ll Love It Here
There’s nowhere quite like racing.
You’ll work at the intersection of elite sport, entertainment, hospitality, fashion and major events, helping deliver some of Melbourne’s most iconic experiences.
From the excitement of the Spring Racing Carnival to year-round corporate events, functions and premium hospitality, no two weeks are the same.
You’ll be joining a passionate team that values collaboration, creativity and commercial thinking—and you’ll have the chance to make a genuine impact from day one.
Ready to Make Your Mark?
If you’re looking for a commercial leadership role that’s fast-paced, highly visible and anything but ordinary, we’d love to hear from you.
The Spring Carnival is just around the corner. There’s never been a better time to jump in and help shape the season ahead.
Why Join Southside Racing?
·Newly created role.
·Opportunity to work closely with the Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer and Experienced Executive Team.
·Diverse organisation spanning racing, hospitality and entertainment.
