About Marlo

Marlo is a funded fintech launching soon in Sydney, built at the intersection of hospitality, advertising, fintech and live experience. The core product runs on the Mastercard network, there is a consumer app, and the team works with some of Sydney's best venues. Marlo is early, with real traction and plans to expand into sport, music and other verticals. This is a rare seat: the successful candidate shapes the visual look of the company from the start.

The role

Marlo is looking for a videographer and photographer who can shoot and edit to a high standard at a good pace. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of creatives who drive the creative strategy and concepts. Marlo does the heavy lifting; the candidate captures what’s set up for them and makes it look exceptional. That said, the team values creative input and is always open to ideas, this isn’t a purely execution only role if you don’t want it to be.

The bar is simple: great with a camera, great in the editing studio. The content is diverse. Some of it features venue partners, including concepts developed with their chefs and with other high profile venues across Sydney. The role also involves working with a wide range of talent: creators, influencers, models and founders.

Ideally, the candidate is interested in startups, or thrives in a role where no two days are alike. Bonus points if you’re into food, beverage and the Sydney social scene.

Application task

As part of the application, candidates must submit a short creative brief for a Marlo launch video. This should include a concept, a visual direction, and a rough shot list or structure. No production is required at this stage, just the thinking.

Marlo helps venues tap into creators who quietly shape culture,



powered entirely by the product a venue already offers. Creators apply to campaigns, venues approve the ones that fit, and the creator visits and pays on the venue's EFTPOS using a Marlo Mastercard, so the product value is covered on the spot. Content is posted within 24 hours and uploaded to the venue's dashboard along with performance analytics.

For creators, it means access to experiences worth shooting without pitching, negotiating or admin.

Shortlist trial

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a paid two hour shoot as a trial, used to help our team decide who we bring on. Portfolios and creative briefs will be reviewed first to determine the shortlisted candidates.

Who you'll work with The candidate reports to Sophie, Head of Marketing, and works alongside Dave, Co founder and CMO, and the wider founding team. Strategy and distribution are handled around the candidate. The focus is the craft: stills, video, and the edit.

What you need

● Proven experience across photography, videography and editing, with a portfolio that shows it

● Fluency across food, hospitality, nightlife and culture is preferred but not essential

● Speed, without dropping the standard

● A sharp eye and a strong sense of taste

Equipment

1. Own good quality gear, camera, lighting and editing setup, capable of producing high end content start to finish.
2. Reliable car or ability to get to locations around Sydney for content days

Availability and location Part time and flexible, based in Sydney.

Remuneration

Competitive part time salary: 75k-85k pro rata based on hours worked. For the successful candidate, there is also potential for equity in the business at a later date, in addition to an employee share option plan as the company scales.
