We are partnering with a well-established developer-builder delivering premium luxury retirement village projects across Sydney's Upper North Shore.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Junior or Mid-Level Contract Administrator to join their commercial team and support the delivery of high-quality Class 2 residential developments.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable builder with a strong project pipeline, supportive leadership team and genuine long-term career progression. Unlike larger high-rise developments where responsibilities are often segmented, you'll have the opportunity to gain exposure to the entire project lifecycle—from development and civil works through to construction, completion and handover—providing invaluable experience for your long-term career.
The Opportunity
Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you will assist in the financial and contractual management of multiple construction projects from procurement through to final account. You'll work closely with experienced Project Managers, Directors, giving you hands-on exposure to every stage of project delivery while developing both your commercial and construction knowledge. The company has a predominantly Mandarin-speaking construction team, making this an ideal opportunity for bilingual construction professionals.
Monday–Saturday roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with subcontractor procurement, tendering and scope preparation
- Prepare and administer subcontract agreements
- Assess subcontractor progress claims and variation claims
- Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting and budget control
- Prepare and issue RFIs, purchase orders and contract documentation
- Work closely with Site Managers to monitor project progress and costs
- Assist with monthly cost reports and commercial reporting
- Support defect management and project close-out
- Build strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants
About You
We're open to candidates from either a Junior CA background looking for the next step or a Mid-Level Contract Administrator wanting greater project exposure.
Ideally you will have
- 1–5 years' experience as a Contract Administrator within the Australian construction industry
- Experience on residential, townhouse or Class 2 apartment projects is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes
- Excellent attention to detail with the patience to manage documentation accurately and consistently
- A proactive communication style and the confidence to work collaboratively with site teams, consultants and subcontractors
- Good commercial awareness and strong organisational skills
- Driver's licence and reliable vehicle
Mandarin language skills are highly regarded, as you'll be working closely with a predominantly Mandarin-speaking project team, subcontractors and stakeholders. Relevant qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
