About the role This is an exciting opportunity to join the Active & Creative Communities leadership team and lead a high-performing team responsible for community sport development, club engagement and the delivery of Council's sporting facility capital works program. This is a temporary role for a four-month period based at the Civic Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 8 classified role. Remuneration will be $134,338.31 to
$150,831.42 (depending on experience) (pro-rata for part time/fixed term) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee. Success in the role will require significant consultation and collaboration with the community, sporting clubs, and development of a close working relationship with internal departments for the planning, scoping, budgeting, delivery and reporting of various outdoor sport and leisure programs and projects. The role will also require strong advocacy skills, with responsibility for grants and development of community sport in the municipality.
What you will bring to this role The key selection criteria for this role are:
Lead and support a team delivering sport and leisure services, programs and capital projects.
Coordinate Council's sporting facility capital works program, including project assessment, prioritisation, planning and implementation.
Build and maintain solid relationships with sporting clubs, associations and community partners.
Support sport and leisure organisations to develop facility improvement projects and funding submissions.
Contribute to the development and implementation of sport and leisure strategies, policies and initiatives.
