The Role

Reporting to the CTO, the Development Manager is a member of the product development leadership team and focuses on software development productivity initiatives with organisational wide impact. You will lead and grow high performing technology talent and teams, define and communicate the Operating Model and be accountable for building and nurturing a continuous improvement culture. You’ll be joining a high performing management team but first and foremost a group of great people.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to: -

- Grow team leaders through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and professional development. Measure and evaluate the performance of the team, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing performance improvement plans.
- Implement Product Delivery strategy by leading change and transformation initiatives
- Ensure smooth and efficient software delivery across all software products. Continuously improve the technology and delivery processes for our products
- Identify potential risks and issues that could impact product delivery. Develop risk mitigation plans and implement appropriate measures to minimize risks.
- Support client facing teams when engaging with the client’s technical department
- Provide input into the Corporate and Product Development strategy

What you need To be successful in this role you will thrive in a stable setting, driving excellence and continuous improvement, as well as the following skills: -

- Technical expertise to be able to ask the right questions. Awareness and appreciation for multiple programming languages and software architectures.
- Proven experience with Lean Management and DevOps culture in a mature environment
- Demonstratable experience in managing software engineering at scale
- Previous experience in leading and managing leaders in a tech environment with a history of embedding quality into high velocity software development processes
- Excellence in delivering organisation wide initiatives for groups of 150+ developers
