Pay: SCHADS Award Level 2.1 (casual rates with penalties for weekends/public holidays; above-award pay considered for exceptional candidates)

About the Role
Red Rose Support Services is a small, personalised NDIS provider specialising in psychosocial disabilities and mental health. We deliver tailored support that helps participants build independence, achieve their goals, and engage meaningfully in their communities.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable Casual Support Worker who thrives working autonomously with mature male and female clients. This role focuses on community access, skill-building, and psychosocial support.
You will play a key role in a supportive team while enjoying significant autonomy in the field. Flexibility is essential: you must be available for weekends as required and willing to cover extra shifts when colleagues are on leave.
We have an immediate start at for x3 4-hour shifts per week in Caboolture south. Other shifts available in Brisbane and Bribie Island. We are currently receiving a healthy number of referrals, and this will lead to more shifts for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred community access and psychosocial support to NDIS participants with psychosocial disability and mental health needs.
- Support participants to build independence, develop daily living skills, and engage in meaningful community activities aligned with their NDIS goals.
- Work effectively and professionally with mature male and female clients in a variety of community settings.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional case notes, progress notes,
and reports that meet NDIS compliance standards.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with the Red Rose team, participants, families, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrate flexibility by covering weekend shifts and additional hours during periods of staff leave.
- Work autonomously while upholding Red Rose's values of respect, reliability, and participant empowerment.
About You (Selection Criteria)
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Minimum 1-year recent experience as a Support Worker (NDIS, mental health, or psychosocial disability preferred). Applicants without a minimum of 1 year experience will not be considered.
- Strong skills in report writing, case noting, and documentation — you understand the importance of clear, objective, timely notes for compliance and continuity of care.
- Experience working autonomously in community settings with the ability to make sound, independent decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and work effectively with mature male and female clients with psychosocial disabilities.
- Willingness and availability to work - days, weekends and afternoons as required and cover extra shifts during staff leave.
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current full Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle (travel between clients is required and paid per km).
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Blue Card can be obtained after hiring if working with children is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice is highly regarded.
Desirable
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Community Services, Mental Health, or similar.
- Previous experience with NDIS progress notes, incident reporting, and goal-focused support.
- Lived experience or strong understanding of psychosocial disability/mental health recovery.
