About the role

Gentle Paws is seeking an experienced and caring Dog Groomer to join our team on a casual basis. This role offers the flexibility of casual work whilst providing professional grooming services to our valued canine clients. Based in North Perth, WA 6006, you will be working in a supportive environment dedicated to animal welfare and exceptional customer service.

As a Dog Groomer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health, hygiene and wellbeing of the dogs in our care, whilst building lasting relationships with our clients.

What you'll be doing

- Performing full grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing and styling dogs of various breeds and sizes
- Assessing dogs' skin and coat conditions and identifying any health concerns to bring to the attention of veterinary staff
- Handling dogs with patience, care and confidence to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the grooming process
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic grooming environment, including sterilising equipment and tools
- Communicating effectively with clients to understand their grooming preferences and provide professional recommendations
- Keeping accurate records of grooming services provided and any special requirements or health notes
- Providing emotional support and reassurance to nervous or anxious dogs
- Working collaboratively with other team members to support the smooth operation of Gentle Paws

What we're looking for

- Recognised qualification or certification in dog grooming or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated experience grooming dogs of various breeds and coat types
- Strong knowledge of proper handling techniques and animal welfare best practices
- Physical fitness and stamina, as the role involves standing for extended periods and lifting dogs




- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner with clients
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality care
- Attention to detail and the ability to work to qualified grooming standards
- Reliability and a flexible approach to casual shift scheduling
- First aid certification for animals is desirable but not essential
