Your new role We are seeking a trade‑qualified electrician with proven leadership experience to step into an Area Manager position.
This is an ideal chance for a leading hand, supervisor, or experienced electrician ready to take the next step into a structured management role. You will be responsible for overseeing a dedicated manufacturing area, ensuring all electrical assemblies are completed to the highest quality standards while leading and developing your team.
Key responsibilities - Managing the quality of switchboard builds, ensuring work is completed with minimal errors
- Reviewing and signing off QA documentation, including test sheets and final inspections
- Ensuring all products meet compliance requirements before dispatch
- Supervising completion of route cards and production documentation
- Leading daily workshop activities, coordinating labour, and meeting production deadlines
- Training and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices
- Identifying skill gaps and organising training with senior management
- Maintaining stock levels, workshop organisation, and housekeeping standards
- Running regular toolbox talks and enforcing safety and SOP compliance
- Working closely with Project Managers and Operations to deliver projects on time
- Managing performance, supporting your team, and fostering a positive culture What you’ll need to succeed - A-grade electrical licence
- Experience in switchboard manufacturing or industrial electrical environments
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Team Leader
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, QA processes, and manufacturing workflows
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and mentor apprentices
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
