We continually strive to help our workforce achieve their qualified and personal goals, engaging them in challenging and inspiring projects.

Job Summary The Electronics Design Engineer will apply technical engineering knowledge to design, simulate, and test complex analog and digital circuits. This role covers the full engineering lifecycle from concept development through to integration, testing, and delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturable, cost-effective, and high-quality electronic subsystems.

Key Responsibilities Hardware Design & Simulation Schematic & PCB Capture: Design robust analog and digital circuits using advanced engineering software.

Circuit Simulation: Model and simulate electrical circuits to ensure performance before physical prototyping.

Design Optimization: Account for Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost constraints.

Prototyping: Build and test prototype electronic circuits, wiring harnesses, and associated systems. Lifecycle, Integration & Testing Lifecycle Management: Apply engineering practices across concept development, design, integration, test, and sustainment.

V&V; Activities: Execute test, evaluation, characterisation, verification, and validation of subsystems with test engineers.

Design Sign-off: Conduct rigorous test activities to verify requirements and formally sign off on designs.

Diagnostics: Perform research, diagnostics, and hardware troubleshooting on equipment and prototypes.

Collaboration & Project Support Systems Alignment: Partner with System and Project Engineers to ensure hardware meets overall project requirements.

Cross-Disciplinary Teamwork:

Work with other engineering disciplines to deliver cohesive, complete system designs.

Planning: Develop, review, update, and modify electrical design plans alongside project work schedules.

Problem Solving: Resolve design issues, focusing on manufacturing effort, repeatability, and failure analysis.

Documentation & Governance Technical Writing: Document designs, calculations, design options, justifications, and engineering decisions.

Design Reviews: Prepare technical documentation to conduct and support formal design reviews.

Product Analysis: Provide detailed electronics design analyses to support broader product development activities.

Experience & Qualifications Essential Criteria Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar electronics design role.

Circuit Design: In-depth knowledge of both digital and analog circuit design.

Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Engineering Lifecycle: Demonstrated experience spanning design, integration, test, and sustainment.

Soft Skills: Collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving aptitude.

Computer Literacy: Advanced computer skills, including engineering design software, databases, and spreadsheets.

Desirable Criteria CAD Tools: High-level expertise in circuit design using Altium Designer is most desirable.

Hardware Architecture: Expertise in embedded microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs.

Communication Protocols: Knowledge of communication buses (e.g., I2C, CAN, SPI, Ethernet).

Environment: Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams in structured product development.

Industry Sector: Prior experience working within the Defence sector.
