We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small, high‑performing team of software engineers delivering critical digital platforms at scale.
This role blends people leadership with technical direction—working closely with Product, Design and other Engineering leaders to deliver high‑quality, reliable solutions that support both customer and business outcomes.
You’ll play a key role in setting engineering standards, growing capability, and ensuring delivery is consistent, sustainable and built for the future.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop a team of 5–8 software engineers, supporting performance, growth and career progression
Partner closely with Product and Design to shape technical roadmaps and deliver outcomes aligned to business priorities
Drive consistent delivery using modern agile practices while maintaining strong engineering standards
Oversee sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives and day‑to‑day execution
Ensure high‑quality, scalable solutions through strong architecture,
code quality and CI/CD practices
Support workforce planning, recruitment and the ongoing improvement of engineering ways of working
Experience & Skills:
10+ years’ experience in software development, with at least 3+ years in an engineering leadership role
Proven experience leading and building high‑performing engineering teams
Strong background in modern software development practices and agile delivery
Proficiency in at least one OO language (e.g. C#, .NET, Java, C++) and one JavaScript framework (React, Angular or similar)
Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong communication skills with the ability to balance technical leadership and people management
Location: Melbourne or Sydney
