Our Mount Magnet

Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. The Checkers processing plant at Mt Magnet is currently undergoing a A$223M expansion and upgrade to an initial 4.3Mtpa capacity, with construction expected to be completed in the September 2027 quarter.

The Role As Environmental

Advisor, you will support environmental compliance and performance across the Mt Magnet hub by providing practical advice, delivering monitoring programs, and ensuring adherence to environmental legislation, approvals, and company standards. This hands-on role combines field monitoring, inspections, reporting, contractor coordination and stakeholder engagement to support compliance and sustainable operations.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

Undertake environmental monitoring, sampling, and testing across site, including underground as required

Capture monitoring data, maintain environmental records, and ensure data systems are accurate and up to date.

Support the preparation of regulatory and statutory reports

Develop environmental reports, assessments, management plans, and related documentation.

Conduct environmental inspections and support the identification and management of environmental risks.

Partner with operational teams to promote environmental awareness, compliance, and continuous improvement.





Co-ordinate heritage contractor mobilisation and activities

Participate in heritage, flora and fauna surveys as well as rehabilitation activities About You You are a hands-on environmental professional who enjoys being in the field and working closely with operational teams to support compliance and responsible mining practices. You are organised, detail-oriented, and able to translate environmental requirements into practical actions while supporting compliance and environmental performance across the operation.

You Bring To The Role

Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or a related discipline

Working knowledge of environmental legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Understanding of environmental monitoring programs and regulatory reporting processes.

Experience preparing and collating data for statutory environmental reporting

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Experience using environmental databases and data management systems.

Competency in the use of Pronto or similar enterprise software systems.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret environmental data and prepare accurate reports.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders.
