This Aboriginal identified role supports the delivery of freshwater recovery,
native fish and cultural outcomes through the Wilcannia Integrated River
Recovery and Cultural Connections Program. You’ll work closely with Aboriginal communities, government agencies and internal project teams to support meaningful engagement, share cultural knowledge, coordinate project activities and contribute to advice that helps freshwater management reflect Aboriginal cultural values. The role offers a excellent opportunity to combine community engagement, project support and natural resource management in work that has lasting cultural and environmental value.
About
You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
Demonstrated knowledge, respect and understanding of Aboriginal culture.
Experience engaging effectively with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders.
Knowledge of freshwater environments, native fish or aquatic habitat management.
Experience supporting projects in natural resource management or conservation.
Strong communication skills, including culturally appropriate engagement.
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
Ability to travel to western NSW as required for work purposes This is an identified role under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977
